Statement
The Forum has been made aware earlier this evening by a parent about concerns regarding potential changes by Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) to the Right to Choose pathway.
We raised our concerns about this to Medway’s Joint Commissioning Team immediately. They have advised they are looking for further clarification from the ICB.
At this time, we are unable to comment further as we do not have the facts or any further information. We appreciate that this may be concerning for families, but it is important that we avoid speculation until we receive official clarification.
We will also be seeking clarification regarding the legal position and implications of any potential changes to the Right to Choose pathway.
In the meantime, if parents wish to raise their concerns, they can do so directly with Kent and Medway ICB via kmicb.patientexperience@nhs.net. Information about the complaints process can be found on the ICB Comments, Compliments and Complaints webpage. Parents may also wish to contact their local MP to raise any concerns they may have.
As soon as we have accurate information and a clearer understanding of the situation, we will share an update with you all.
